Bethel Missionary Baptist Church was organized in New Orleans, La. May 30, 1943, by Dr. C. D. Arnold and was sponsored by Oaklawn Missionary Baptist Church of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Over the 64 years in existence,
Bethel has weathered many storms,
that is until now and Hurricane Katrina.
Hurricane Katrina caused one of the Levee Walls to break, and our building, records, books, maps, charts, etc. were completely destroyed. Bethel was the only ABA church in the city of New Orleans and after 3 weeks of being under water, we have nothing left.
After four long
years we are starting to rebuild. We are
still the only ABA church in the city of
New Orleans.
